Historia del dobermann
Esta raza fue creada en el siglo XIX en Alemania por el Sr. Friedrich Louis Doberman (1834-1894). Este hombre trababaja en una perrera para atrapar a todos los perros que anduviesen libres con el derecho legal para la crianza, cruzó perros especialmente agresivos del refugio canino. Gracias a estos perros se formo la raza de estos elegantes perros que en aquellos tiempos ya eran vistos como raza. Dichos perros eran del tipo de los precursores del Rottweiler actual, mezclados con un tipo de perro Pastor de color negro con marcas rojo óxido que era común en la región de Turingia. Con éstas mezclas, Doberman inició su criadero en los años 70 (1870). De ésta manera, él obtuvo “su raza” de perros de utilidad, de hogar y ranchos, que no eran sólo vigilantes, sino también muy apegados al hombre. Se le utilizaba mucho como perro de protección y para la policía. . En 1900, Otto Goller, experto ci-nólogo y criador de Apolda, se interesó por este perro. Lo cruzó con un Manchester Terrier, lo que le otorgó una silueta elegante, sin restarle nada de su fuerza ni agresividad. El Dobermann, tal como lo conocemos, se fijó en 1910.
Estos perros al principio mostraban un carácter bastante conflictivo, eran fieros y difíciles de dominar, pero a lo largo del tiempo se lograron camadas más estables y de buen carácter .
En la Primera Guerra Mundial fue usado por el ejército como perro sanitario, correo y guardián.
Sin embargo durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial fue utilizado por las SS, debido al uso que hicieron de él se le considera una especie cruel de reacciones imprevisibles e incontrolables, capaz de agredir incluso a su propio dueño.
No hay nada de cierto en esto: el Dobermann es un perro de defensa y de guardia que no es agresivo, solamente intenta hacerse respetar. Desde cachorro, ya muestra un carácter dominante , y hacia los 3 ó 4 meses intenta hacerse el jefe de la manada mediante gruñidos y mordiscos. Su educación está en manos de su dueño, ya que estas manifestaciones deben ser eliminadas inmediatamente, sin brutalidad, pero con firmeza.
Mítica leyenda negra
Muchos años han pasado desde que los detractores del Dobermann difundieran la ‘leyenda’ que dice que a medida que el perro crece, sufre un engrosamiento de los huesos craneales, de modo que su cerebro se comprime y hace que el animal reaccione de manera anómala pudiendo llegar incluso a enloquecer. Se trata de una fábula errónea y falsa, ya que hablamos de una raza que con el tiempo ha logrado alcanzar un gran equilibrio psíquico.
Excelente guardián
Entre las diferentes razas de perros adecuadas para la vigilancia, ésta es excelente ejemplo para cumplir dicha función. Desconfía de todo y de todos, presenta una mirada viva y siempre alerta, puesto que es un perro que está siempre pendiente de su dueño para protegerle de cualquier peligro.
Escasa socialización
Por naturaleza, el Dobermann es un líder y habrá que enseñarle la posición que juega en la ‘manada’, por lo que tendrá que aprender cuál es su papel. Una vez que te impongas, tu mascota se mostrará sumisa y afectuosa con toda la familia. Es de destacar, ante todo, la gran fidelidad que tiene a los suyos: esta raza pondrá su vida en juego gustosa y espontáneamente cuando se trate de defender a su dueño.
Como animal de compañía, se caracteriza por ser muy dócil, atento, cariñoso, pero tendrás que recordar que es muy desconfiado con los demas. Con respecto a los niños, actúa como una auténtica niñera. Con los pequeños se convierte en uno de ellos, pero no tienes que olvidar que nunca hay que dejar a un niño solo con un perro. “le encanta jugar, pero con un solo empujón puede hacer mucho daño al niño sin quererlo”.
Las relaciones que mantiene con otros animales son nulas, por lo que puede mostrarse tremendamente impertinente si le molestan. Sólo si desde cachorro se acostumbra a convivir con otras razas y a relacionarse con sus compañeros de especie se conseguirá que mantenga una cordial relación con otros perros.
El doberman ha sido víctima de una publicidad en su contra producto de la vinculación que la cinematografía ha hecho de esta raza con los robos y asesinatos en las películas. Por esto mucha gente hasta lo ha llegado a denominar “el perro asesino”. A partir de esta idea surgieron, sobre todo en Europa, personas inescrupulosas que se dedicaron a la venta masiva de ejemplares -sin realizar ningún tipo de selección- a gente deseosa de poseer perros extremadamente agresivos. Esto no hizo más que perjudicar a esta raza tan vapuleada.
El doberman es el prototipo del perro de guardia, ya que es un gran defensor del territorio donde vive. Esto lo manifiesta tanto a través de su posible ataque en caso de ser invadido como a través de su ladrido de alarma y advertencia ante la presencia de extraños cerca del hogar. Tiene una gran capacidad para el aprendizaje y una gran respuesta al entrenamiento de obediencia.
Los ejemplares de esta raza son habitualmente vigorosos, bastante activos y medianamente excitables, lo cual significa que son perros que están siempre en estado de alerta y que se adaptan mejor a casas con lugares amplios que a espacios reducidos. Sin embargo, con una ejercitación adecuada y con una muy buena educación y un correcto entrenamiento de obediencia pueden adaptarse bien a un piso.
Es necesario saber que, sobre todo los machos, pueden mostrarse agresivos con otros congéneres del mismo sexo y algo dominantes con sus propietarios. Esto hace que la educación y el entrenamiento de obediencia sean esenciales.
Cualidades del Dobermann
Los apasionados de esta raza definen al Dobermann como un perro muy orgulloso y elegante que no deja a nadie indiferente. Sin duda, su inteligencia es lo más destacable: él sabe que da miedo y que se le respeta. Desarrolla un ansia insaciable de aprender, lo que le hace especialmente atractivo para los adiestradores; ejecuta las órdenes rápidamente. Aprende muy rápido, tanto lo bueno como lo malo.
Aunque su temperamento es fuerte, se trata de un perro afectuoso, sensible y muy fiel. Sin embargo, se presentan características diferentes entre los machos y las hembras. El macho es radiante, ágil, impetuoso, poderoso, con temperamento, seguro de sí mismo y fuerte. La hembra se caracteriza por ser sensible, afectuosa, fiel, segura, noble, obediente y vigilante. Se presenta hogareña, casera y muy celosa de los suyos.
Esta raza trata de marcar su territorio constantemente y se muestra muy dominante contra otros perros.Lo más importante es educarlo para convivir en una perfecta armonía y recuerde que no es un asesino.
Cuidados del Dobermann
La crianza responsable es una garantía de salud para esta raza, ya que muchos ejemplares sufren dolencias congénitas como la cardiomiopatía (una enfermedad de corazón muy grave), la displasia de cadera o el síndrome de inestabilidad de las cervicales con riesgo de parálisis.
El Dobermann puede vivir en un piso y, de hecho, disfruta siendo uno más de la familia, pero tal vez sea injusto condenarlo a un espacio pequeño cuando disfruta tanto corriendo y haciendo ejercicio. Lo ideal es que su propietario viva en una casa con jardín donde el Dobermann pueda disfrutar de lo mejor de los dos mundos, sobretodo si tenemos en cuenta que su pelo corto lo hace vulnerable al frío intenso.
De esta forma disfrutaremos del placer de ver a este atleta canino en movimiento durante al menos diez años en perfectas condiciones.
Reproducción:
La cría del Doberman se debe dejar en las manos de los criadores profesionales. Estas personas se encargan de seleccionar las mejores líneas y de su balance genético.
Cráneo: Fuerte, adecuada a su aspecto general; vista desde arriba, presenta una cuña aguda; la línea transversal de su coronilla, vista de frente, debe ser casi horizontal, o sea, no debe caer sobre las orejas. La línea entre los parietales, que empieza desde la caña nasal, cae sobre la nuca con una leve redondez. El área de las cejas está bien desarrollada, pero sin sobresalir. El surco frontal es visible. l hueso occipital no debe ser demasiado notorio. Vistos desde arriba y de frente los lados de la cabeza no deben ser muy abultados. La leve redondez lateral del maxilar superior y del arco cigomático deben estar en armonía con la longitud total de la cabeza. Los músculos de la cabeza están fuertemente desarrollados.
Nariz: Bien desarrollada, más ancha que redonda, con grandes orificios, pero sin sobresalir. En perros negros debe ser de color negro, en perros de color café debe ser de un color más claro.
Hocico: Debe estar en relación correcta con el cráneo. Está bien desarrollado y es profundo. La apertura bucal debe llegar casi hasta los molares del perro. También debe ser suficientemente amplio en el área de los incisivos superiores e inferiores.
Labios: Deben estar bien apretados y adheridos a las mandíbulas y deben mostrar un rígido cierre en las comisuras. De pigmentación oscura; en perros cafés puede ser un poco más clara.
Mandíbulas, dentadura: Mandíbulas fuertes y anchas, tanto la superior como la inferior. Mordida de tijera, con 42 piezas dentales (de acuerdo a la fórmula dentaria), de tamaño normal.
Ojos: De tamaño mediano y ovalados, color oscuro; se permite una tonalidad un poco más clara en perros de color café. Párpados bien adheridos. Las comisuras poseen pelo.
Orejas: De implantación alta, se llevan levantadas y recortadas a una longitud proporcionada con la cabeza. En los países donde se prohíben las amputaciones estéticas, las orejas completas se valoran de igual forma (se desea que tengan tamaño mediano con la cara anterior bien pegada a las mejillas).
Cruz: Debe sobresalir en altura y longitud, principalmente en machos, de manera que la espalda muestre una trayectoria ascendente desde la grupa.
Espalda: Corta, dura, ancha y bien musculada.
Lomo: La región lumbar debe ser ancha y bien musculada. Las hembras pueden tener la región lumbar un poco más larga, ya que necesitarán ése espacio durante la gestación.
Grupa: Forma un pequeño declive desde el sacro y hacia la implantación de la cola, no muy notorio, dando una impresión redondeada, no recta ni caída. Bien ancha, con una fuerte musculatura.
Pecho: La longitud y profundidad del pecho debe estar relacionada con la longitud del tronco, de manera que la profundidad del pecho (con costillas ligeramente abultadas) se aproxima a la mitad de la altura de la cruz. El pecho tiene buena anchura y es muy notorio adelante (antepecho).
Línea del abdomen: Desde el final del esternón hasta la pelvis, el abdomen del perro se presenta claramente recogido.
Miembros anteriores: de cualquier ángulo, deben mantenerse rectos, perpendiculares al suelo, y de fuerte estructura.
Hombros: La escápula se presenta bien adherida al costillar, por ambos lados bien musculada y sobrepasando a las vertebras superiores. Preferentemente bien inclinada y hacia atrás, formando un ángulo de 50 grados con una línea horizontal.
Brazo: Buena longitud, con una buena musculatura, formando un ángulo con la escápula de 105 a 110 grados.
Codos: Bien pegados al cuerpo, sin estar torcidos hacia afuera.
Antebrazo: Fuerte y recto, de buena musculatura. La longitud debe estar en armonía con todo el cuerpo.
Articulación metacarpiana: Fuerte.
Metacarpo: De huesos fuertes, visto de frente: recto, por los lados, con una pequeña inclinación (máximo 10 grados).
Pies delanteros: Cortos y cerrados. Los dedos son redondeados y hacia arriba (pie de gato), uñas cortas y negras.
Miembros posteriores: En general, vistos de atrás y debido a la buena musculatura pelviana y de la grupa del perro, son anchos y redondeados. Los músculos que corren desde la pelvis hasta los muslos y piernas dan como resultado que el área del muslo, las rodillas y piernas, sea bien ancha. Los miembros posteriores son fuertes y de posición paralela.
Muslos: Bien anchos y largos, con fuerte musculatura. Buena angulación en la articulación de la cadera. En ángulo en relación a una línea horizontal debe ser de 80 a 85 grados.
Rodillas: La articulación es fuerte, formada por el muslo, pierna y rótula. La angulación debe ser de 130 grados.
Pierna: De longitud mediana, en armonía con toda la extremidad.
Corvejones: Medianamente fuertes, paralelos. Aquí se unen los huesos de la pierna con los del metatarso del perro formando un ángulo aproximado de 140 grados.
Torso: Corto y perpendicular al suelo.
Pies traseros: Así como en los delanteros, los dedos son cortos, redondeados y cerrados. Uñas cortas y negras.
Movimiento: Tiene una especial importancia tanto para su capacidad al trabajo como para su apariencia. El movimiento es elástico, elegante, ágil, libre y espacioso. Los miembros anteriores del perro se echan lo más posible hacia adelante. Los miembros posteriores dan el empuje fuerte y necesario, logrando buena distancia. El miembro anterior de un lado, y el posterior del otro lado se dirigen hacia adelante al mismo tiempo. Buena rigidez en espalda y articulaciones.
Tipo de pelo: duro, denso, liso, bien pegado y uniformemente repartido sobre el cuerpo. De longitud corta.
Color
- Negro (Golondrino)
- Café oscuro, también llamado Sepia
- Con marcas bien delimitadas de color rojo-óxido. en el hocico, mejillas, cejas, garganta, dos manchas en el pecho, en los metacarpos, los metatarsos y pies, en la parte interna de los muslos, región perineal y protuberancias ilíacas.
Tamaño y peso
- Machos 68-72 cm y de 40 a 45 Kg
- Hembras 63 -68 cm y de 32 a 35 Kg
